Born in 1958, the vocation of this sculptor was not premature, revealing itself at the age of 40. The sequence of events was to confirm the excellence of his choice. Since his first exhibition in Marseille in 1998, as a self-taught artist, some sixty others have followed, taking him to the four corners of France, in places of art often renowned (Grand Palais, Espace Pierre Cardin, Hôtel de Ville de Paris). The Grand Prizes (11 in number), and other distinctions (Vermeil Medal Arts-Sciences-Lettres, Silver Cross of Merit and Dedication French) have widely rewarded his expressive animal bronzes, which are part of the tradition of great animal sculptors such as Antoine-Louis Barye and Rembrandt Bugatti. The artist has empirical knowledge of all aspects of sculpture. Bronze and resin give substance to subjects of ocular vision, philosophical and surrealist mental creations, and mythical themes. Since December 2012, the artist has also been engaged in engraving and print (dry point, strong water, aquatint). He has participated in the Salon des Artistes Français (Grand Palais in Paris) since 2014.

My aesthetic approach:
In my sculptures and my engravings, you will not see any installations, or conceptual do it yourself.. My tastes and my aesthetic choices turn to a certain classicism to treat this iconography figurative. This is the best medium for conveying ideas, affects, symbols. For the sake of detail, I turn away as well from the clean constructions (which we are unfortunately forced to satiety); as from visual only montages where only the optical is involved, but without particular significance. A work of art is not just a simple trinket that appeals to the eye for its more or less successful aesthetic (although the decorative art intervenes in engraving). It is above all a mental creation that has body, of the fabric, biting (normal for strong water!) and that challenges, questions, or even makes you uncomfortable on the contrary insipid ectoplasms without soul of the Arte Povera. My surreal, dreamlike and expressive creation, tinged with irony and existential angst (sometimes with committed criticism) lends itself to these narrative representations that I try to make convincing by favoring the line, and often the black color. Even scathing humor and derision are indispensable ; would that only to relativize, and not to take too much to the serious in this world of here below where everything is ephemeral and transitory. Even in serious subjects, humor persists, everything is not lost. The human is still there. Read so in the third degree. In my pictorial projections I incorporate many characters: humans, hybrids, and naturalistic or fictional animals. Each plays its part in these cardboard-paste sets of the Commedia Dell' Arte theatre where the looks cross. In the lower parts, you will often find pastiches of self-portrait with disguises.
My societal approach:
In these times of doubt, uncertainty, on the fundamental values of our civilization; artistic creation, fruit of both Christianity and the free thought of the “Lumières” takes on more than ever a capital importance. The same applies to culture and knowledge, ramparts against the return of barbarism
announced by the most pessimistic cassandras. In this country with foundations more than twice millennia; first heir to Rome and populated by free men, creative imagination has always florès. Art was born in France in Magdalenian. It is therefore the duty of every artist to be proud of this inheritance, to defend it, and to share in the common impulse with fervour in order to enrich the good of all. This ideal is ensured in structures whose vocation is the encouragement of ethics through exchange. I would like to be able to make my modest contribution by my plastic mixed with symbols and affects.
To combat the illiteracy, obscurantism, ignorance and indifference that threaten us; the man of 21st century needs art. It is the best tool against forgetting and death; and for love and universal brotherhood.
